Mrs. Sarah C. Evans, widow of
Matthias Evans, died at the State Soldiers’ Home hospital, Saturday morning at
7 o’clock. Death resulted from acute myocarditis. She is survived by one son,
Harry Evans, address unknown. Mrs. Evans was born in Putnam County in 1850 and
was admitted to the home from that county December 1, 1923. Her husband served
in the Civil War as a private in Co E, First Indiana heavy artillery. – kbz
